MAIN ATTRACTIVE
National Reserve Tampopata-Candamo. Located in the confluence
of the rivers Torre and Tambopata, it has an extension of 5
500 hectares of virgin forest. It emphasizes by his wealth and
variety of birds (approximately 600 species), butterflies (900
species) and libélulas (115 species).
National
sanctuary Pampas of the Heath. It was created in
1983 with an extension of 109 hectares. Here it inhabits the
quoted wolf of horsehair.
Reserve
of the Biosphere of the Manu. Recognized like so
byUNESCO in March of 1973. It has an extension of 1'881 200
hectares and is conformed by three areas: the National Park
of the Manu (1'532 806 hectares), intangible zone; the Reserved
Zone of the Manu (257 000 hectares) to make the tourism; and
the Low Manu (91 394 hectares), cultural zone inhabited by
human groups.
Beautiful lakes like Valencia, Manu
Glass, Sandoval, the Shepherd, Tambopata, Mother of God are
appraised, Cocococha, Three Chimbadas and Amigos; also they
are the Manu rivers, Tambopata, Mother of God, the Tower,
Manuripe, Piedras and Tahuamanu.
The Reserve is an ecosystem that has
had an unalterable evolution during thousands of years and
presents/displays one of the greater varieties of flora and
fauna of the world, being considered in more than thousands
the total of species of birds in the park and 200 of mammals.
The species of plants vary between
2 thousands and 3 thousands and are considered that still
there is a 10% known by science. In order to enter to the
Reserve an authorization of the Direction of the National
Park is necessary and to visit it it is required to have at

Located to 60 km and four hours in
motor boat from Port Maldonado. In the way, to borders of
the river Madre de God, it is possible to observe gold prospectors,
the native establishment of the Huarayos and a flora and fauna
very varied.
In the lake it is possible to be fished
corvinas, golden and doncellas, among others. The main native
communities are Amaralari, Arasaeri, Kisambaeri, Pukirieri,
Sapiteri, Toyoeri, Wachipari, Arawak, Machiguenga and Piro-Mashko.
