Day 1: Lima the buzzing start
You land in Lima boom you’re in a huge city the air’s thick with that city feel but there’s this old colonial vibe too. You get to your hotel drop your bags and you’re out the door. First stop the historic center Plaza Mayor’s got this grand feel the Cathedral’s towering and the Government Palace is just impressive. You walk around the old streets seeing all these old houses and balconies each one telling a story or something. Evening rolls around and you’re diving into the food Peruvian cuisine it’s a wild ride of flavors your taste buds are gonna be doing a happy dance.
Day 2: Pisco coastal chill
Today it’s off to Pisco a smaller town by the coast way more relaxed. You hop on a boat and head out to the Ballestas Islands wildlife central sea lions penguins tons of birds it’s like a nature show. Back on land it’s all about the beach sun sand the whole deal. Maybe you try some fresh seafood.
Day 3: Nazca mystery from above
Desert adventure today the Nazca Lines are on the agenda. You get into a small plane and fly over these massive figures in the desert it’s mind blowing you’re trying to figure out how they did it why they did it still a mystery. After the flight you hit the Antonini Museum more on the Nazca culture their history their way of life.
Day 4: Arequipa the white city magic
You fly to Arequipa a city surrounded by volcanoes the landscape is awesome. You check into your hotel then it’s time to explore the historic center a UNESCO World Heritage site. Plaza de Armas is the heart of the city the Cathedral’s stunning and all the buildings are made of this white volcanic rock sillar it’s beautiful. Then you go to the Santa Catalina Monastery like a city within a city old streets plazas a glimpse into the past.
Day 5: Colca Canyon deep dive
Colca Canyon today one of the deepest canyons in the world the views are just insane mountains villages the river snaking through it all. You get to the Cruz del Cóndor viewpoint and see these huge condors soaring it’s a sight you won’t forget. Later you relax in some hot springs in Chivay perfect after a day of exploring.
Day 6: Puno high altitude lake life
Travel to Puno the folk capital of Peru and you’re right by Lake Titicaca the highest navigable lake in the world. You take a boat trip to the Uros Floating Islands people living on islands made of reeds it’s wild. Then it’s on to Taquile Island famous for their textiles and traditions you get to see how they live.
Day 7: Taquile Island more exploring
More time on Taquile Island hiking around seeing the views learning about their culture their weaving it’s a unique experience. You eat their local food. Then you head back to Puno.
Day 8: Cusco the Inca heart
Bus ride to Cusco a long one but the scenery is incredible mountains valleys the Sacred Valley. You get to Cusco check into your hotel and start exploring. The city’s a mix of Inca and colonial architecture Plaza de Armas Coricancha the Cathedral so much to see.
Day 9: Sacred Valley Inca treasures revealed
Sacred Valley day first stop Pisac market then the ruins. Ollantaytambo is next a massive fortress. Then it’s on to Chinchero textiles and a beautiful church. The history is thick here.
Day 10: Inca Trail the adventure begins
Inca Trail time hiking shoes on you’re trekking through mountains forests rivers camping under the stars. The air is fresh and the views are unreal.
Days 11 12 and 13: Inca Trail the sacred path
More hiking Inca ruins Runkurakay Sayacmarca Phuyupatamarca each site has its own story. The Sun Gate Intipunku and then Machu Picchu wow.
Day 14: Machu Picchu the lost city found
Machu Picchu you’re walking through the ancient city exploring the terraces temples palaces. You climb Huayna Picchu for those epic views. Train back to Cusco.
Day 15: Cusco free day vibes
Free day in Cusco explore at your own pace museums markets cafes. Farewell dinner with music and dancing a taste of Peruvian culture.
Day 16: Lima goodbye Peru
Fly back to Lima time to head home with a ton of memories.
